Northland at Indus
Saturday was a busy day for volleyball. Let’s start with the Indus Trojans as they were in Remer for a 7-team double elimination tournament. The Trojans started the day with a 3-set victory over Fond du Lac, a team they had defeated on the road earlier in the week. Senior Brea Hasbargen led Indus with 3 kills and 5 aces. Indus then played Laporte with the Wildcats defeating the Trojans 25-20 and 25-19 for their first loss of the season. After the match, Brea Hasbargen said the team played so well in their winning streak to start the season.
The Trojans then played the host school, Northland in an elimination match. The first set saw the Eagles use a 9-point run in the first set to take it 25-20. Indus dominated Set 2 with an 11 point run with Abbi Hasbargen serving and won it 25-13. That set up a deciding 3rd set. Indus led it 13-11 but Northland scored the final 4 points to win it 15-13. After the match, senior Tessa Hasbargen said they played as a team in the tournament.
Indus is now 6-2 on the season and will host Northland on Thursday and we will have that match on the Lakes Country 104.1 and rjbroadcasting.com.
