Recap

Turnovers outweighed points scored for the Aitkin Gobblers as they fell 81-27 to the #10AA Pequot Lakes Patriots Girls Friday night at Aitkin High School.

Even with forward Rae Nyberg returning to the lineup, Aitkin could not cover glaring errant passes and full court pressure from the Patriots. After taking a 5-2 lead early on, the Gobblers surrendered the lead for the rest of the game when Pequot went on a 19-2 run and ended up leading at halftime 44-17. Aitkin had 18 turnovers at the break.

Pequot continued to roll players on and off the bench with 12 different scorers on the night taking an early 30 point lead in the 2nd half. The running clock was cemented with 19 points from Isabel Larson, 15 points from Kelsi Martini, and 14 from Maci Martini. The Gobblers finished with 31 turnovers while also outrebounding the Patriots 22-19 in their now 7th straight loss.

Aitkin is now 6-12 on the season with their next game Thursday at Staples-Motley. #10AA Pequot Lakes improves to 17-1 as they return home Thursday to host Proctor.
