Limited offensive chances leading to easy points for Pequot Lakes was what ultimately led the Aitkin Gobblers Boys Basketball team into a 78-37 loss to the Patriots Friday night at AHS School.

The Gobblers totaled only 13 points and 8 turnovers in the first half but the Patriots got solid performances from Cruz Megazzini and Eli Laposky. Laposky tallied 18 of his game0high 26 points in the first half, while Megazzini was lethal from outside with all 15 points coming from 3-point range.

Landon Janzen led the Gobblers with 9 points and Gus Sanford added 7 points and 4 rebounds.

Pequot Lakes also handled their business by out-rebounding Aitkin 27-7 to add to their now 5-game win streak and 12th win in the last 13 games. Aitkin has now lost 5 in a row and 8 of their last 9 games.

Aitkin falls to 3-12 on the year with a 4-game road trip in store next week, starting with Barnum on Tuesday. Pequot Lakes returns home Tuesday to face #19AA Esko at the PAC with their 14-2 record.
