Upsala/Swanville Area’s Junior quarterback Franky Meagher threw for four touchdowns and ran for another as USA rolled Pine River-Backus 41-6 to open up the 2024 season.

The USA Patriots scored on their first six possessions, including two that started inside the PRB 30-yard line. It was 34-0 at the half as the Tigers were held to just 28 yards of offense though the first two quarters. Ethan Barthel had an interception and rushing touchdown.

Pine River-Backus avoided the shutout with an Eli Abraham touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Tigers finished with 75 yards of total offense and had three turnovers.
