Region 2 Boys Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals

A balanced scoring offense and decisive margin in rebounding helped the MayPort-CG Patriots defeat the North Border Eagles 56-51. The Patriots started the game on a 10-0 run before the Eagle offense got going and took a 16-15 lead midway through the second quarter. In the closing minutes of the first half the Patriots would knock down four free throws to lead at the break 24-21. The third quarter was back and forth with the margin remaining a three point Patriot advantage going into the final quarter. In the final frame the Patriots scored 10 of their 17 fourth quarter points from the free throw line, including their final eight points after North Border cut the lead to a single point multiple times in the closing minutes. With the win the Patriots will face #1 Thompson in the Region semifinals.
