Rush City at International Falls

The International Falls football team played their final home game of the regular season on Friday night as they hosted the 6-0 Rush City Tigers who came into the game averaging 56.3 points per game. After the two teams traded opening possessions, Rush City fullback Ty Stepp scored on a 67-yard TD run on a 4th and 2 from their own 33 yard line to go up 8-0 after the successful 2-pt conversion run. The Broncos answered right back with a 42-yard touchdown pass from Ben Glowack to Alex Larson but the 2-pt conversion was unsuccessful. The Tigers would score 3 more times in the first half and the Broncos trailed 30-6 at half. The Falls would score the only touchdown in the 3rd quarter on a 15-yard TD pass from Glowack to Tristan Thompson. Glowack would use a shovel pass to Bennett Smith to add the 2-pt conversion and the Broncos were within 30-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Tigers would answer back with 2 more TD runs in the 4th quarter for a final score was 44-14 as the Tigers never threw a pass in the game. The Broncos Ben Glowack was 8-12 throwing the ball with 91 yards and those 2 TD’s while Cody Joslyn was 4-8 for 51 yards. After the game, junior captain Braden Skifstad talked about the grit the Broncos played with.
The Falls is 1-6 on the season and will play at 1-5 Crosby-Ironton on Wednesday in the regular season finale at 6:00.
