Section 8A East Volleyball Tournament Round 2 – #8 Clearbrook-Gonvick @ #1 Fosston

Fosston 3 #8 Clearbrook-Gonvick 0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-10)

The Greyhounds used a balanced attack on their way to the 3-0 win over Clearbrook-Gonvick Thursday night at Fosston (25-11, 25-22 & 25-10). At one point in the match, the Greyhounds had five players with four kills apiece. Fosston closed the first set on an 11-3 run to win 25-11. The second set was the closest of the three with Fosston leading 20-17 at one point. The Greyhounds jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked backed in the third set to take the match in three straight sets. Katelyn Vesledahl led Fosston with 10 kills as the Greyhounds improved their overall record to 25-4 and their home record to 8-0. Brynlea Mahlen had 8 kills and Evie Dryburgh added 7 kills for the Greyhounds. Makenna Hartwig led the Bears with 7 kills as Clearbrook-Gonvick ends their season with an overall record of 5-19. Fosston will face Bagley on Friday, October 28th in the Section 8A Quarterfinals at Fosston (96.7 FM). The Greyhounds defeated the Flyers 3-0 at Bagley during the regular season.
