Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 77, Thief River Falls 67 (OT)

Owen Leach scored 50 points, including ten in overtime, to lead Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton past Thief River Falls 77-67 in the Region 8AA title game Friday night in Detroit Lakes.

Thief River Falls tied the game at 66 on a Jack Manning basket with 26.8 seconds to play in regulation. DGF’s Austin Anderson missed a jumper from the free throw line at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.

The Prowlers scored the first point of the overtime on a Jack Rosendahl free throw…but they wouldn’t score again.  Leach hit an off-balance three with 2:50 left in overtime to give the Rebels a 69-67 advantage.  In the rest of the overtime, Leach made 7 of 8 free throws, with Drew Sheeley making one of two to round out the scoring.

DGF advances to the State AA Boys Basketball Tournament after losing in the Region 8 final last season.  The Rebels are now 24-6.

Jack Rosendahl scored 23 points to lead Thief River Falls, with Manning adding 18.  The Prowlers end the year with a 26-3 record.
