NMF Hosting workshops focused on disaster recovery and resiliency

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is hosting workshops this spring to equip communities with strategies to bolster their resiliency in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.

Every year, communities throughout the U.S. face weather disasters, including floods, tornadoes, and wildfires, and other crises such as mass shootings. Yet when a disaster strikes, community members are forced to figure out how to respond, often with little training or preparation. Individuals, nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, private funders, emergency managers, public health agencies, and other mobilize in response.

Presenting at the workshops will be Cari Cullen, who leads the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s domestic grantmaking and previously served as director of the CDP Midwest Early Recovery Fund.

These workshops will be held:
– Thursday, March 27th, Roseau, 1-3 p.m. A light lunch will be available.
– Tuesday, April 1st, Mahnomen, 1-3 p.m. A light lunch will be available.
– Thursday, April 3rd, virtual event, 10 a.m. – Noon

The workshops are free, but registration is required. Visit https://bit.ly/42OA5Cy to register.
