LARL to Host Author Visits and Creative Writing Workshops
Residents of the region will have a unique opportunity to explore the writing life during a series of author events featuring young adult author Selina Li Bi and middle grade author Tory Christie. Sessions will include an interactive presentation and audience Q&A, as well as a hands-on creative writing workshop in Detroit Lakes and Moorhead.
Attendees will learn about the authors’ creative processes, their writing journeys and the importance of diverse voices in literature. Through interactive presentations, Q&A sessions and guided writing activities, the authors will demonstrate how different perspectives shape the connections between readers and characters.
These programs are designed for teens and young adults, as well as anyone interested in writing for these age groups, and are free and open to the public. Paper and writing utensils will be provided; participants may also bring their own materials.
