LARL Free, Interactive “Pint Size Polkas” Events
Get ready for high-energy, accordion-filled events! The Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) is thrilled to present Pint Size Polkas, an interactive musical journey for the whole family, hosted by libraries and LINK Sites across the system’s seven-county region.
Led by award-winning accordion player Mike Schneider, Polka enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy clapping and singing along to the music in this interactive program which will also include magic, comedy and history as attendees travel back in time to visit heroes and legends of the past, such as Amelia Earhart, Casey Jones and Paul Bunyan.
The tour is geared toward children ages 5-11, but all ages are welcome to join the fun. Admission is free thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

The tour is offered as part of LARL’s Summer Reading Program, which is offered to youth and teens at libraries in communities in Becker, Clay, Clearwater, Mahnomen, Norman, Polk, and Wilkin counties. Through July 31, participants can read to win prizes as well as attend educational and entertaining programs at their local library or library LINK Site. Those interested in participating are encouraged to stop by their local library or LINK Site to pick up a reading log July 31.
