Orchestra of Indigenous Instruments and New Technologies performances
The Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra (GGFSO) will host the Orchestra of Indigenous Instruments and New Technologies (OIANT) in several upcoming area performances as part of their annual Sounds of the Prairie Chamber Music Festival and culminating in their final concert of the 2025-26 season.
For this second edition of the Festival, musicians of the GGFSO join forces with Argentina’s OIANT to introduce audiences to the beauty and intensity of the music of the original peoples of the Americas. This program brings together culturally unique indigenous instruments with the traditional sounds of violin, viola, and piano, along with pre-recorded soundscapes, creating a rich and immersive sonic experience.
The Festival aims to bring the music of the GGFSO to regional communities outside the Grand Cities to reach new audiences and increase the accessibility of orchestral music in rural areas. These tour concerts also include youth outreach, bringing performances directly to students in their schools. They are open to the public, and
a freewill offering will be collected to help support GGFSO programming.
Concerts will be performed at the following dates, times, and locations:
Monday, May 4 – Devils Lake, ND – Devils Lake Middle School, 1:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 6 – Belcourt, ND – Turtle Mountain Community College, 10:00 a.m.
