“Trek to Everest Base Camp” Events Offered at Detroit Lakes Library
Local author, photographer and adventurer Lee Hoedl will be featured in a two-part program offered as part of Polar Fest. On Saturday, February 21, Hoedl will be at the Detroit Lakes Public Library to give an all-ages presentation at 11 a.m., which is geared for grades 3-8 and will feature his book, Johnny Avalanche and the Trek to Everest Base Camp, followed by a presentation geared for an older audience at 3 p.m. in which Hoedl will regale us with stories from his own trek to Everest Base Camp. From Kathmandu to Lukla, we’re in for a journey as Hoedl takes us along the historic trail every climber of Everest has undertaken leading to the legendary Everest Base Camp.
Hoedl’s presentations are sponsored by Lake Agassiz Regional Library and admission is free, thanks in part to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund. Additional information is available at larl.org/leehoedltrek.
All programs are open to the public and are offered free-of-charge. The Detroit Lakes Public Library is located at 1000 Washington Ave. A full calendar of events can be found at larl.org/events.
