BAGLEY, MN—For the sixth consecutive year, Bagley will be part of the Minnesota Class A One-Act Play State Festival Friday at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.  Marilyn Hood, the play’s director, talks about Bagley’s run of success.

Bagley is performing “The Chair Play” by Alan Haehnel after receiving a perfect one-one-one score at last weekend’s section festival at Lake of the Woods.  Hood has a list of students taking part in the production.

Bagley will perform Friday afternoon at 2:15 at O’Shaughnessy Auditorium on the St. Catherine University campus.  Hood says she and her group will be in St. Paul on Thursday….not for extra rehearsal, but to watch the Class AA festival.

There is no overall state champion at the one-act play state festival.  Each of the eight participating finalists in Classes A and AA aims to receive a starred performance from the judges.  Judges rate the plays according to specific criteria, including pace, blocking, costuming, and projection of the play’s meaning. Each production is limited to 10 minutes of stage preparation and 35 minutes of actual performance.  Last year, three of the eight finalists earned a starred performance.
