Ada-Borup-West (ABW)overcame a halftime deficit to defeat Hillsboro Central Valley (HCV)71-62 at Hillsboro Friday night.   Other than a tie score at 2-2, HCV played in front the entire first half with the largest lead of nine points, 30-21 and 32-23.  ABW’s Cameron Spaeth made a 3-point field goal inside of half court to tighten the score at 32-26 as the halftime buzzer sounded.   HCV outrebounded ABW 15-6 in the first half as Landon Olson had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the first half.   Spaeth, started the 3rd quarter with a 3-point field goal, a steal and layup an 10 of his 15 points in the 3rd quarter as the Cougars responded to their halftime talk.  The visiting Cougars rebounded better, and made key shots in the fourth quarter to improve to 8-0 this season.  WIth the game tied at 53-53, Mason Larson made a 3-point field goal from the corner, followed by a Lance Kritzberger steal which led to an Austin McRaven basket and then minutes later, Cadyn Dahl made two more 3-point field goals.  The Burros’ came back within four points, 60-56 before the Cougars secured the win. HCV had their three game win streak stopped, now 3-3.
