Blackduck 3 Bagley 1 (16-25, 25-10, 25-19, 25-18)

Blackduck, MN — The Blackduck Drakes advance to the East Sub-Section Quarterfinals with their 3-1 win over the Bagley Flyers on Thursday night.

The Flyers were able to seize immediate momentum with a solid 25-16 set one win but Blackduck would take care of business from there. The Drakes scored the first 11 points of set two and would cruise to a 25-10 win. In set three, both teams traded points and the lead early until the Drakes were able to grab a 16-12 lead forcing the Flyers to take timeout to regroup, but it was all for not at that point as Blackduck would hold on the win 25-19. In the fourth, the Drakes grabbed an early advantage 4-1 and lead 9-6 nearing the mid way point of the set but Bagley alertly would go on a 6-0 run to take the 12-9 lead. The Drakes would weather the storm with their heavy offensive attack and take the lead back 14-13 and would finish the set on an 11-5 run winning set four 25-18 and the match 3-1.

With the win, the Drakes will play the Fosston Greyhounds on Friday night in Fosston. The Flyers season comes to an end with an overall record of 13-12
