BB Bagley at Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal

Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal scored seven runs in the second inning and pulled off a triple play as the Titans defeated Bagley 12-2 in five innings Friday in Ulen.

The Titans overcame a 1-0 deficit with that seven run second inning thanks to two hit batters, four walks, a fielders choice, a single and a double.  Cade Bentley’s two run double was the big hit in the inning.

After Bagley got a run back in the third inning, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal got three more in their half of the third….and then sealed the game with two runs in the fifth on rbi singles by Jace Braseth and Will Jirik.

In the fourth inning, Bagley had runners on first and second with no one out.  Second baseman James Johnson lined out to shortstop Braseth.  He threw to first base to double off runner Ethan Rud.  Then the runner on second, Will Hansey, ran to the Flyers’ dugout, thinking there were two outs.  Hansey was called out for running out of the baseline to complete the triple play.

Braseth, Ian Jacobson, Jirik, Bentley and Cody Nodsley each drove in two runs for the Titans (2-7). Jacobson was the winning pitcher, going four innings…with three hits allowed, two runs (one earned), two walks and four strikeouts.  Aiden Flaten pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

Ian Phrakonkham took the loss for Bagley (2-5).  He pitched an inning and a third, allowing one hit, four walks, two hit batters and seven runs with three strikeouts.  Phrakonkham had two of the Flyers’ four hits and scored both Bagley runs.
