Barnes County North 64, Maple River 58

Barnes County North scored 13 consecutive first quarter points to take a lead they never gave up in a 64-58 victory over Maple River Saturday in Page.

The Bison were ahaead 29-17 in the second quarter, but Maple River went on a 10-3 run to cut that lead to 32-27 in the final seconds of the first half.  But BCN’s Chance Roaldson made a short jumper at the buzzer to give the Bison a 34-29 advantage.

In the second half, Barnes County North went ahead by 14.  But the Raiders could only get to within six at the final buzzer.

Junior forward Will Schwehr scored 17 points to lead four Bison scoring in double figures.  Jonah Harstad and Jayson Schlenker scored 12 points apiece, with Justin Schlenker adding ten.

Maple River also had four players scoring in double figures: Wyatt Sylling with 15, younger brother Tee Sylling with 13, Connor Dahl with 12 and Carter Baasch had ten for the Raiders.

Barnes County North is now 8-9 on the season.  Their next game is Tuesday at home against Midway-Minto.

Maple River is now 6-12; the Raiders finish their regular season Monday afternoon at Northern Cass.
