Erskine, MN — The Win E Mac Patriots Football team won their first game of the season on Thursday night in blowout fashion, beating the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers 44-6.

The Patriots put the first points on the board after a long scoring drive was capped off by a four yard touchdown run by Jonas Spry. Jonas Spry had his fingerprints all over the game, racking up a total of 208 all purpose yards, three rushing touchdowns and returning a strip sack fumble 41 yards for a touchdown.

In total, the Panthers punted the ball on 6 of their 13 possessions and fumbling it twice. For the Patriots, they were able to strike with explosive plays and long drives when they needed and had three players rush for 50 or more yards. The halftime score was 28-6 Patriots and ended 44-6. The Patriots begin their season 1-0 and will travel to Lake of the Woods next Friday. The Panthers will begin 0-1 and will be at home in week 2 against the Blackduck Drakes.
