Thompson 3 Central Cass 1 (25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 25-13)

For the second time in a week, fifth-ranked Thompson defeated a top ten team.  On Tuesday, the Tommies defeated top-ranked Northern Cass.  On Thursday, Thompson defeated 8th-ranked Central Cass three sets to one.

Thompson frustrated the Central Cass attack with 15 blocks on the night–with as many more blocks that didn’t result in points, but forced the Squirrels to regroup on offense.  Junior Brenna Martin had three solo blocks and assisted on another four blocks for the Tommies, while senior Summer Hegg had two solo blocks and five block assists.

Hegg had 18 kills for Thompson (17-5).  Senior Klaire Cotton had 13 kills for Central Cass (21-7).

Following the game, Thompson Coach Lisa Strand was presented a plaque for becoming the first coach in North Dakota to record 1000 career victories.  Win number 1000 came at a tournament last Saturday at Des Lacs-Burlington.
