Hassani Bruton scored 31 points to help lead Clearbrook-Gonvick to a season opening 68-59 win over Blackduck in the semifinals of the Fosston Holiday Tournament. Ryan Bodensteiner pitched in with 10 points and Grant Engen added 8 points off the bench as the Bears start the season with a 1-0 record. Max Bahr led Blackduck with 30 points as the Drakes fall to 0-2 overall. Clearbrook-Gonvick will play Win-E-Mac in the championship game Friday night (1480-AM/99.7 FM). Blackduck will play Fosston in the 3rd place game (1480-AM/99.7 FM). Clearbrook-Gonvick led 45-23 at halftime but had to hold off a late charge by the Drakes who cut the deficit down to six in the second half.
