The Northern Lakes Lightning completed the season sweep over Detroit Lakes with another dominating win over the Lakers.

Freshman Ava Merta tallied both goals in the first period, as the Lightning controlled the offensive zone but only had the two goals to show for it.

The scoring then came early and often in periods two and three. In each period Northern Lakes found the net six times. Rose Aldridge provided the early offense in each frame, scoring 21 seconds into the second period and a shorthanded goal only six seconds in to start the third.

Aldridge tallied seven points on the night, while Merta grabbed six.

Northern Lakes is back to the .500 mark overall at 7-7, is 3-0 in Mid-State Conference play, and plays at Prairie Center Tuesday. Detroit Lakes falls to 3-10 on the year, 1-2 in the MSC is plays outdoors in St. Paul Saturday vs. Mankato East.
