Devils Lake at Thompson

The Thompson Tommie offense surged in their previous game, an 81-71 victory over Hillsboro/Central Valley on Friday. The Tommies carried that momentum into their matchup with the #3 Devils Lake Firebirds Monday night, leading after the first quarter, 12-10. Unfortunately, the last three quarters belonged to Devils Lake, as The Firebirds cruised from that point on towards a 72-50 victory in Class A Region Two Boys Basketball.

Five Firebirds scored at least nine points, led by Joel Nelson’s 16 and Parker Brodina’s 15. Gavin Krogstad and Karter Peterson co-led the Tommies with ten each. Thompson (3-6, 2-2) has a quick turnaround as they host East Grand Forks Tuesday. Devils Lake (8-1, 3-1), now the region leaders, has a little more time to prepare to host Shiloh Christian on Friday.
