Recap

The Fort Frances Lakers were playing at the same time at Ice for Kids Arena against the Dryden Ice Dogs.  The Lakers got a first period goal from Clark Scadden but trailed 3-1 after 20 minutes.  Following a scoreless 2nd period, Brady Krentz closed the gap to 3-2 just 2 minutes into the 3rd and then Dylan Wedward tied it 5:35.  Fort Frances took the lead on newcomer Eli Neilsen’s goal at 8:43 before Dryden tied it a 4 with under 5 minutes remaining.  The Ice Dogs took a penalty, and the Lakers made them pay as Kevin Bond scored on the power play with 1:15 left for the 5-4 victory.  The win broke a 5-game losing streak and Kevin Bond credits his linemates for scoring the game winner.

Brenden Stroble was fantastic in goal for the Lakers as he stopped 63 shots for the win.  Fort Frances plays a weekend series at Red Lake on Friday and Saturday.
