Esko at Pequot Lakes

In a rough and tumble battle of the top two teams in section 7AA, the Esko Eskomos were the victors on the road in Pequot Lakes.

Using a 9-0 run in the early going, Esko took a 13-5 lead and would not trail again. Esko led by as many as eleven in the first half, with the Patriots shaving the lead to five at the break 31-26.

Twice in the second half, the Patriots were within two. With the score 43-41 after an Eli Laposky triple, Esko rattled off fourteen straight points to put the game out of reach at 57-41 with just under five to play.

The Patriots cold offense couldn’t heat up for a final push, and Esko went on to the thirteen point win.

Esko is now 16-2, 7-0 in games within the section and will play at Hermantown Friday. Pequot Lakes falls to start a very challenging week to 13-4, 7-1 in 7AA contests, and will host #20AA Park Rapids Thursday and Perham Friday. Perham is one of just two teams to defeat Esko this year.
