Climax, MN — The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons beat the Climax/Fisher Knights 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Falcons got off to a slow start in the opener and found themselves in a 5-1 hole right away and were even down 14-8 at the midway point of the set. From there, Fertile-Beltrami would go on a 12-5 run to take their first lead of the night at 20-19 and they would close out the first set 25-23. In set two, there were 12 ties, 6 lead changes at it appeared Fertile-Beltrami was ready to go up 2-0 in the match when they lead 21-17 but Climax/Fisher would go on a 6-1 run and gut out a 25-23 set two win. Set three was nearly identical to the previous, with the same end score as the first two sets but Fertile-Beltrami would win and go up 2-1. Se four saw Fertile-Beltrami jump out to a 5-1 lead and they would never trail, winning the set 25-17 and the match 3-1.

Fertile-Beltrami is now 11-8 on the season and will play at the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds on Thursday. Climax/Fisher falls to 12-12 on the year and won’t play again until next Monday the 16th when they host Crookston for their penultimate game of the season. They will then host Ada-Borup-West the very next day to finish their regular season.
