The Fort Frances Muskie hockey teams opened their regular seasons yesterday in Kenora against Beaver Brae.  The girls got things started by scoring 6 times in the first period, including 4 of those goals in a span of 1 minute and 22 seconds.  The Muskies added 3 in the second and 1 in third on their way to a 10-1 victory.  Keira Fairnington scored the first and last goal and Kianna Antonick also scored a pair of goals along with an assist.  Isabelle Tanguay added three assists.  After the game, forward Abbie Kenny said the 6 goals in the first period was nice to see.

Defense Kathryn Fischer says they need a different gear at the start of games.

The Muskie girls will play St. Thomas Aquinas in a pair of exhibition games on Sunday at IFK Arena.
