VB: Fosston at Stephen-Argyle

The Fosston Greyhounds overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Stephen-Argyle Storm 3-2 Tuesday night in Stephen. The Greyhounds lost the first two sets 25-23 and 25-21 but won the next three sets 25-22, 25-19 and 15-9. Sophomore Lexi Mahlen led the Fosston attack with 14 kills as the Greyhounds improved to 8-1 overall. Brynlea Mahlen added 12 kills and 3 service aces for Fosston with Teegan Duppong and Tessa Manecke each adding 8 kills for the Greyhounds. Isabelle Westmen led the Storm with 16 kills as Stephen-Argyle falls to 3-2 overall. Emily Marquis added 9 kills and Signe Svendsen 8 kills for Stephen-Argyle. Greta Deusterman had 14 service points for Fosston with Hannah Kroening adding 10 service points and 2 aces for the Greyhounds. The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, September 16th when they travel to Walker-Hackensack-Akeley for a tournament. The Storm will travel to the Northern Freeze in their next match on Thursday, September 14th before playing in a tournament on Saturday, September 16th at Warren-Alvarado-Oslo. Stephen-Argyle won the “B” Squad match over Fosston 2-1 with Fosston coming out on top in the “C” Squad match 2-0.
