BBB Goodridge-Grygla at Win-E-Mac

Erskine, MN — The Win E Mac Patriots picked up a big time section victory on Thursday night by beating the Goodridge/Grygla Chargers 76-66.

Things did not start out on the right foot for Win E Mac. Much like in their game on Tuesday night versus Mahnomen/Waubun, the Patriots got down right away and dug themselves into a 12-2 hole that they would slowly climb out of. Win E Mac would never have the lead in the first half but they would never trail by more than 10 points and would go into the locker room at halftime down 43-39.

In the second frame, the story was the Win E Mac defense. Forcing numerous shot clock violations, digging in on defense when they needed stops and allowed just 23 points in the second half. Win E Mac took their first lead of the game at the 48-46 mark of the second half and would never trail after that winning the game 76-66.

With the win, Win E Mac improves to 10-3 overall and 9-2 in section play. They will go head to head with the Red Lake County Rebels on Friday night. That game can be heard on 1480 AM/99.7 FM KKCQ. Goodridge/Grygla falls to 9-3 on the season snapping their nine game win streak. The Chargers will be at home next Monday to host the Roseau Rams.
