Grafton at Thompson

Thompson Girls Volleyball hosted Grafton in a tightly contested Region Two Matchup. It went the distance with Thompson coming from behind to claim the 3-2 victory (20-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-7)

Set 1: Grafton came out with a 3-0 lead and never relinquished it, pushing the lead to as much as seven to take the first set, 25-20.

Set 2: Both teams exchanged rallies of four points or more and both had leads. Grafton pulled away late, closing it out with a 4-1 run, 25-18.

Set 3: Both teams once again exchanged multi-point rallies, but this time, Thompson pulled away late, closing it out with a 4-2 run, 25-19.

Set 4: Thompson started out on a 10-2 run before Grafton tied the set at 13. Thompson pulled away again before Grafton rallied to take a 23-21 lead. Thompson scored the last four points of the set out of a timeout to take the fourth set, 25-23.

Set 5: Thompson came out of the gate firing with a 5-0 run and never looked back enroute to the 15-7 final set victory.

Brenna Martin led the Tommies with 26 kills and nine blocks. Molly Bjorneby led the Spoilers with ten kills and three blocks.
