Recap

What a homecoming football game at Sports Stadium on Friday night.   Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin received the opening kickoff and Aiden Duffy returned it 84 yards for a touchdown, he added the 2-pt conversion run and it was 8-0 Titans just 14 seconds into the ballgame.  About 4 minutes later, senior captain Diego Christianson blocked a punt and he would score on the next play from scrimmage from 3 yards out.  Diego ran in the 2-pt conversion and the game was tied at 8.  The Broncos had just 21 yards of offense at halftime and trailed 14-8, but took the second half kickoff and drove 77 yards in 12 plays to tie the game at 14 with the final 8 yards coming on a touchdown pass to Tristan Thompson from Cody Joslyn.  The Titans scored a TD with 9:56 left in the 4th quarter to take a 22-14 lead.   The Falls would answer back on a 70-yard pass from Joslyn to Thompson but could not convert the 2-pt conversion and the Broncos trailed 22-20.  GNK took a gamble with under 2 minutes left in the game and decided to pass on 3rd down.  Bronco captain Gavin Loveless jumped in front of the pass and returned the interception to the Titan 35-yard line with 90 seconds left in the game.  Six plays later, the Broncos had 4th and 14 from the 24 yard line with 35 seconds left and here’s how George Fraik and I called it

The Broncos got their first win of the season by a final of 26-22 and are now 1-5 on the season.  You can watch the game by going to YouTube and then search for Your Live Event.  The Broncos will be at home on Friday hosting Rush City who defeated Mesabi East on Friday 62-32 and ran for nearly 500 yards against the Giants.
