The 54^th annual Hial Pike cross country meet was held at the River Golf Course yesterday on a perfect afternoon for a cross country meet.  In the girls race, Abbi Hutchinson led the Broncos with a 4^th place finish while Ryan Ford was 14^th, Loralai Ford was 15^th, Nora Sullivan 22^nd, and Jaleigh Carlson 24^th for a total of 79 points which was good for 4^th place as a team.  Rock Ridge won the team title with a score of 40, Mesabi East 2^nd with 54, and Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin 3^rd with 78 just one point ahead of the Falls.  After the race, Nora Sullivan talked about her finish and her younger teammates.

Rock Ridge won the boys title as well as they finished with 25 points.  GNK was 2^nd with 36, and the Falls was 5^th with 147.  Anthony Scholler finished 19^th to lead the Broncos and after the race he talked about why he started running cross country.

Parker Sivonen placed 28^th, Colton Hollis 31^st, Camden Deedrick 33^rd, and Carter Line 34^th.  The Bronco cross country teams will next compete on Tuesday in Hoyt Lakes in the Iron Range Conference meet.
