The 54th annual Hial Pike cross country meet was held at the River Golf Course yesterday on a perfect afternoon for a cross country meet.  In the girls race, Abbi Hutchinson led the Broncos with a 4th place finish while Ryan Ford was 14th, Loralai Ford was 15th, Nora Sullivan 22nd, and Jaleigh Carlson 24th for a total of 79 points which was good for 4th place as a team.  Rock Ridge won the team title with a score of 40, Mesabi East 2nd with 54, and Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin 3rd with 78 just one point ahead of the Falls.  After the race, Nora Sullivan talked about her finish and her younger teammates.

Rock Ridge won the boys title as well as they finished with 25 points.  GNK was 2nd with 36, and the Falls was 5th with 147.  Anthony Scholler finished 19th to lead the Broncos and after the race he talked about why he started running cross country.

Parker Sivonen placed 28th, Colton Hollis 31st, Camden Deedrick 33rd, and Carter Line 34th.  The Bronco cross country teams will next compete on Tuesday in Hoyt Lakes in the Iron Range Conference meet.
