Indus at Laporte

The Indus Trojans softball team opened their season with a game in Baudette against the Laporte Wildcats.  Starting Indus pitcher Hattie Ulrich got a 1-2-3 inning to start the game and Laporte pitcher Harley Lahr got the first two Indus batters to strike out and it looked like we were in for a pitcher’s duel.  However, a Laporte error, 5 consecutive walks and a 2 run single by Jenessa Holte gave the Trojans a 6-0 lead after 1 inning.  Laporte would get within 6-4 before Indus added 3 runs in the 3^rd and 1 in the 4^th as the Trojans won the scheduled 5 inning game by a final of 10-7.  After the game, Ulrich said there were a few tense moments in the pitching circle.

Indus will be playing in the Greenbush Tournament on Saturday if the weather cooperates.
