International Falls at Mountain Iron-Buhl

The International Falls softball team opened their 2022 season on the road at Mountain Iron Buhl. After 2 scoreless innings, the Broncos broke through for the first run of the season on an RBI single by Izzy Valenzuela to score Kale Taylor. MIB answered back with a run of their own in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 1. It remained that way until the 5th when Lola Valenzuela started it off with a single followed by an RBI double by Gracie Swenson. A pair of walks, an RBI single by Havyn Pelland, and an RBI groundout by Gracie Bowles gave the Falls a 5-1 lead. The Broncos got another RBI single from Izzy Valenzuela to finish the scoring and won their opener 6-1. Gracie Swenson was the winning pitcher as she struck out 7. Lola Valenzuela was 3-5 at the plate and said it was awesome to start with a win.
Swenson, Izzy Valenzuela, and Gracie Bowles each had a pair of hits in the game and the Broncos are right back to the Range today to face the Mesabi East Giants at 4:30. The pregame starts at 4:10 on K104 and rjbroadcasting.com.
