VB: Lake Park-Audubon 0 at Climax-Fisher 3 (25-16, 25-21, 26-24)

Climax, MN — The Climax/Fisher Knights got their 2023 campaign off to a good start with a 3-0 victory over the Lake Park-Audubon Raiders on Tuesday night. The Knights, who return everyone but one graduating senior from last year, faced some adversity in the first set getting down by as many as six points early on but were able to make a sizable run and win 25-16. Play was more even in the second set with both teams going back and forth. Lake Park-Audubon’s Taylor Haugrud was strong with four kills in the second set effort but the Raiders still fell 25-21. In set three, both teams made mini runs and it looked like for a moment that LPA would force a fourth set but some untimely errors would allow Climax/Fisher to hang around take the set 26-24 and win the match 3-0.

Climax/Fisher starts their season 1-0 and will travel to Kelliher/Northome this Thursday. Lake Park-Audubon starts their year 0-1 and will host Frazee on September 5th.
