It was a battle of the black and orange squads in Region Two Friday night with a spot in the quarterfinals up for grabs. Despite a pesky pack of polar bears pounding the Cavalier defense early in the 2nd and 3rd sets, the Tornadoes rallied in both to secure a straight sets victory over Larimore: 25-11, 25-16, 25-18.

Cavalier never trailed in the opening set, taking a 1-1 tie and turning it into as much as a fourteen-point lead, the margin at the end of the first set. Larimore responded emphatically to open the second set, coming out on a 6-0 run to snag the early momentum. But Cavalier rallied, outscoring the Polar Bears the rest of the way, 25-10. It was a similar story in the third set, as Larimore jumped out to a 13-4 lead. It looked like Larimore was going to force a fourth set, but the Tornadoes swirled back into the set, going on an 8-0 run and eventually taking the lead to pull away.

With the win, Cavalier moves on to the quarterfinals Monday to face Grafton in the final match of day one action. Larimore closes out their season with a record of 1-22.
