SB – NCE/U-H vs. Sacred Heart

Red Lake Falls, MN — The Sacred Heat Eagles defeated the NCE/U-H Titans in a cold, windy and rainy game on Thursday evening to stay alive in the Section 8A Softball Tournament.

Sacred Heart struck first in the bottom of the first to go up 1-0. After a quiet second inning for both teams, NCE/U-H scored 2 runs of their own in the top of the third to take a 2-1 advantage. Then in the Eagles half of the third they would bat their entire lineup and score four runs and would lead 5-2 after three innings. Sacred Heart would then score three more runs in the fourth and four runs in the 5th to take control of the game. NCE/U-H made things interesting in the top of the sixth by stringing together four runs on five hits and would trail 12-8 going into the top of the seventh but the Titans would go down in order to end the game.

NCE/U-H ends their season with an 11-11 overall record. Sacred Heart will now play East Polk next Tuesday at 4 pm in Red Lake Falls to try and stay alive in the Section 8A Softball Tournament.
