Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal 12 Fertile Beltrami 40

Fertile, MN — The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons remain undefeated after their 40-12 victory over the NCE/U-H Titans on Friday night.

The first half was an all out slug fest between the two teams. The Titans did a nice job of jumping all over the Falcons with their physical defense and hard nosed offensive attack. Fertile-Beltrami scored the first points of the game after a NCE/U-H opening drive three and out. But the Titans responded with a score of their own to tie it 6-6. The the Titans defense held strong forcing a punt and then their offense struck again with a 10 yard touch down pass from Drew Jacobson to Aidan Flaten. Fertile-Beltrami then had their chance to respond but Quarterback Caiden Swenby would lose a fumble giving the ball back to NCE/U-H with an opportunity to go up two scores. However, the F-B defense held strong forcing a Titans punt, followed by Caiden Swenby avenging his lost fumble and scrambling for a 25 yard touchdown to tie it 12-12 going into the half.

Two begin half number two, the Falcons started hot with a 47 yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Wright just three plays into the half. The Titans could never get their offense off the ground in the second half, while Fertile-Beltrami would score on four of five possessions. With the 40-12 win, Fertile-Beltrami is now 6-0 and will host the Blackduck Drakes next week. NCE/U-H is now 4-2 and will travel next Friday to Clearbrook-Gonvick to play the Bears.
