Park River/Fordville-Lankin at Hillsboro-Central Valley

The Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros hosted the Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies in a Region Two Volleyball showdown Tuesday night. After a tightly contested first set, the Aggies gradually pulled away to win the match in straight sets: 27-25, 25-20, 25-16

Set 1: Both teams came out with an even exchange of the first dozen points. The Aggies had a 7-6 lead before the Burros went on a 9-0 run to lead 15-8. The Burros continued to lead, owning four set points with a 24-20 lead late. However, the Aggies found their rhythm, scoring seven of the last eight points, to win the set, 27-25.

Set 2: The second set started out even, with the Aggies pulling away towards the midway point of the set, 25-20.

Set 3: The Aggies carried that momentum from the end of the first and second sets into the third, rolling 25-16.

With the win, Park River/Fordville-Lankin moves into the top three in the region standings with a Region Two record of 6-1 and an overall record of 10-9. Hillsboro/Central Valley suffers their first loss in Region Two play and are now 2-1 in the Region and 6-6 overall. Both teams are back in action Thursday, with the Aggies hosting Griggs-Midkota and the Burros traveling to Cavalier.
