Pelican Rapids at Hawley

VB: Pelican Rapids 0 at Hawley 3 (25-16, 25-12, 25-12)

Hawley’s volleyball team won its seventh in a row Tuesday night, beating Pelican Rapids in three straight sets in Hawley.

The Nuggets went on an 8-1 run late in the first set to go ahead 19-10 on their way to a 25-16 win.  Then in set two, Hawley scored seven straight points to go ahead 12-4 and eventually win the set 25-12.

Hawley broke a 4-4 tie in the third set with ten consecutive points before going on to finish the sweep 25-12.

The Nuggets had a balanced attack with eight kills by Annaka Johnson and seven each from Katy Vetter, McKenna Walker and Isabel Steer.  Hawley improves to 18-4 on the season.

Anna Roisum and Ellie Welch had six kills apiece to lead Pelican Rapids.  The Vikings are now 12-7 on the year.

Both Hawley and Pelican Rapids will play at the Fergus Falls tournament on Thursday.

Before the game, Hawley Coach Kathleen Rustad said she wanted consistency from her team.  After the game, she was asked if she got it.
