It was a game that featured a huge run by both teams, as Pequot Lakes rallied for a 67-54 win at Mora. After the Patriots jumped out to a 9-3 lead, Mora got red hot and rattled off 19 straight points to go up 22-9. The Mustangs led by as many as 14 in the first half, but the Patriots shaved it to seven at the break with Mora leading 36-29. The Patriots started the second half with two quick three’s to cut the lead to one, with Mora responding with back-to-back buckets to get the lead to 40-35. Then it was all Patriots. Pequot Lakes went on a 28-2 run that included a span of five consecutive three-point makes by four different players. It was a dominant defensive effort that helped the Patriots to a 63-42 lead as they took the Mustangs down in round one of their GRC meetings. The Patriots are now 13-2, 5-1 in the GRC while Mora fell to 8-7 (2-4).
