Class AA Cons. Semifinal Perham vs. #20 Pequot Lakes

A dominating second half this time lifted the Pequot Lakes Patriots to victory and one more game in the 2021-2022 boy’s basketball season.

With the victory, Pequot Lakes snapped a losing skid of at least 13 games to Perham dating back to the 2010-2011 season.

The first half was a great battle with four ties and four lead changes. Knotted at 14, the Yellowjackets went on an 8-0 run to lead 22-14. The Patriots responded with a 10-2 run and at the half it was 24 all. Perham shot 58% from the field in the first half.

The second half was all Pequot Lakes. Unlike the previous night, the Patriots were the dominant force on both ends of the floor. The Patriots knocked down 12 of nineteen shots in the second half (63%) and held Perham to 3-19 shooting after the break and only 14 points.

Pequot Lakes improves to 25-7 and will face Minnehaha Academy Friday for the AA Consolation Championship. Pregame is set for 1:30pm on KLKS Talk 100.1 & rjbroadcasting.com.

Perham’s season ends at 18-12, and they will graduate five seniors off this year’s team.
