The Rainy River men’s basketball team at the start of last week was ranked #11 in the nation and 12-0 in the North Division.  After losing on Wednesday to Mesabi Range, the Voyageurs still had a chance to wrap up the division championship outright in Brainerd on Saturday against Central Lakes who was looking for a share of the title.  Rainy River trailed 35-26 at half and fell by a final of 69-55.  Stephan Mereus had 15 points to lead the Voyageurs and Quelyn Nelson added 11.   The Voyageur men and women will compete in the Region 13 tournament this weekend at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
