#3 Devils Lake met #6 Carrington in a Division A Region Two Boys Basketball Quarterfinal Monday night at Mayville State University. The Cardinals had a 5-3 lead early, but Devils Lake’s shooting caught fire and they never looked back in a 100-42 win. The Firebirds shot 71% from the field and 78% from three-point range in the first half, leading 60-24 after two quarters. In the end, thirteen of Devils Lake’s fifteen players scored at least two points. Five Firebirds reached double figures, led by Wylee Delorme’s 16. Grady Shipman led Carrington with eleven. Devils Lake sunk fourteen three-pointers in the win, improving to 20-2 overall and advancing to Tuesday’s semifinals against #2 Four Winds/Minnewaukan. Carrington ends their season at 2-20.
