Region 2 Softball Tournament Semifinals – Carrington vs Thompson

The Thompson Tommies wasted no time booking their spot into the ND Class B Region Two Softball Tournament Championship with a 17-0 thumping of Carrington.

The Tommies topped the game with seven runs off of seven hits in the bottom of the first. They would add two more in the second, and four each in the third and the fourth. Every Tommie starting batter recorded at least one hit, totaling eighteen, along with at least one run scored. Thompson Designated Player, Cindy Eliason, had the standout offensive play for the Tommies. The freshman tallied her sixth home run of the season, bringing home two runs of that hit in the bottom of the second. That was more than enough for Thompson starting pitcher, Dru Schwab. The senior gave up just one hit and four walks, striking out three Cardinal batters. Carrington’s lone hit came off a single from Brynn Smith in the top of the second.

Thompson will face May-Port-CG in the championship. Carrington clashes with Pembina County North in a loser-out contest.
