In arguably the most competitive match of the ND Class B Region Two Girls Volleyball Tournament, the result was nearly identical at the end of each set of Tuesday’s semifinal between #2 Thompson and #3 Grafton. Unlike their regular season meeting, it was Grafton pulling out the win to advance to Thursday’s championship: 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

It was back-and-forth throughout, with no team leading by more than six points at any point in the match. The key stat was at the service line, as Grafton rattled off nine aces to Thompson’s one. Addison Fredericksen led the Spoiler offense with eleven kills and six blocks. Molly Bjorneby added eight kills, four blocks, and two aces while Annelise Presteng chipped in five aces, four in the first set. Brenna Martin led the Tommies with fifteen kills and eight blocks.

Grafton meets May-Port-C-G for the title Thursday night while Thompson faces Park River-Fordville/Lankin for 3rd place.
