Sargent County 50, Hillsboro-Central Valley 33

Defense helped Sargent County defeat Hillsboro-Central Valley 50-33 Saturday in a boys’ basketball matchup in Hillsboro.

The Bulldogs forced seven first quarter turnovers while jumping to a 16-3 lead.  Hillsboro-Central Valley, which had won an overtime game at Ada-Borup-West the previous night, wasn’t able to catch up.

Luke Martinson scored 13 points to lead a balanced Sargent County offense.  The 10th-ranked Bulldogs improve to 6-0 on the season.

Jacob Brandt had 15 points for Hillsboro-Central Valley.  The Burros are now 4-2 on the year.
