The Rangers and Redhawks set a state record for most combined points in a girls’ basketball state tournament game with 190 as Minnehaha Academy defeated C-I for 3rd place 104-86.
The Redhawks connected on 11 3-pointers in the first half as they lead by ten at the break 52-42. The Rangers trailed by 14 when they cut the lead to 4 at 46-42 late in the session, but M.A. connected on back-to-back threes in the final minute to take a ten point lead into the locker room at 52-42.
The hot shooting continued in the second half as the Redhawks extended the lead to 18 and held the lead for several minutes. C-I had one more small run in them as the cut it to 11 at 86-75, but a 15-0 Minnehaha run put the game to rest.
Addi Mack had 53 and Angel Hill 33 for Minnehaha Academy, while Tori Oehrlein poured in 46 for C-I.
The Rangers finish the season 25-8 and graduate two seniors.
