Drew Overby scored 24 points as Thompson defeated Hillsboro-Central Valley 61-44 Saturday afternoon in a boys basketball game in Hillsboro.

Except for three brief early ties, the Tommies led from wire to wire as they improved to 11-8 overall and have now won six of their last seven games.

Karter Peterson scored 12 points for Thompson, with Drew Odenbach adding ten.

Senior Landon Olson scored 14 points to lead the Burros, who saw their three game winning streak end. Dylan Mitzel added ten.  Hillsboro-Central Valley is now 9-9 on the season.

The Burros return to action Tuesday at Valley City, while Thompson travels to Devils Lake on Friday.
