Thompson vs. Park River/Fordville-Lankin

Thompson 3, Park River/Fordville-Lankin 0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-23)

Thompson began defense of its Class B Region 2 volleyball championship Monday with a three set sweep of Park River-Fordville-Lankin Monday afternoon in Park River.

The Tommies began the first set with a 15-0 run, keyed by five aces by Jordan West.  Reese Danner also had three kills in that run.

In set two, Thompson ran off six straight points after a 2-all tie en route to a 25-15 win.

Park River rallied in set three leading 14-10, then 21-16 before the Tommies came back. With the set tied at 23, Clara Stevens had back to back kills to give Thompson the win.

Summer Hegg had 11 kills and two block assists for Thompson (30-6), with Stevens adding ten kills and two block assists.  Thompson meets Hatton-Northwood Tuesday in the Region semifinals in Park River.

Ella Johnson had seven kills and a block for Park River-Fordville-Lankin.  The Aggies end the year 8-19.

After the game, Thompson Coach Lisa Strand complimented Park River Coach Nicole Bartholomay.
